The Independent Review Mechanism (England)

The Independent Review Mechanism was launched on 30th April 2004. It is being operated by BAAF on behalf of the DfES. The Independent Review Mechanism (IRM) is a review process, conducted by a panel, which prospective adopters can use when they have been told that their adoption agency does not propose to approve them as suitable to adopt a child.
